A Sunday in Cambridge

Farmer’s Markets in Upstate New York during the summer are always a treat. The Sunday Farmer’s Market in Cambridge caught my eye as we passed through, as it is located in the center of town directly in front of the Cambridge Hotel. Stopping we wandered around and picked up some fresh veggies at Happen Chance Farm and a bottle of wine at Colbrook Country Wines. By the time we finished meandering through the stands, it was noon and we saw that the Hotel is now offering a Sunday Brunch. It was wonderful!! We helped ourselves to herbed eggs, maple bacon, sausage and hash. Further down the line was the most delicious pork tenderloin, cheesy scalloped potatoes, and sautéed local vegetables. And even further, to top off the line, was a prime rib that was cooked to perfection. Everything from the Mediterranean Orzo Salad to the desserts was fantastic. I understand they switch it up every week, so the next time I go I can sample tastes from a whole new selection of foods. And the cost was so reasonable that I can’t help but recommend the Cambridge Farmer’s Market and The Cambridge Hotel’s Brunch ….makes for a nice Sunday.

A Place to Be

Summer is so special here in Cambridge. The air is warm and comfortable and there is a certain activity that only this weather brings. Sitting on the front porch at the Cambridge Hotel has become a Friday night comfort. It is a the meeting spot for friends to unwind after a week of work and enjoy all that "Happy Hour" offers. You never know who will stop by or who you will see but there are sure to be several familiar faces.
Imagine relaxing on the green rockers of the upstairs balcony, sipping a drink and engaging in quiet conversation while watching the going-ons of Main and Broad Street. On the porch below the green rockers are full with people conversing. Someone has brought a guitar and is playing and singing. Further down by the main entrance patrons enjoy dinner outside. It has become a festive atmosphere...a place where people want to be.

Tee Time!

Summer seems to finally be upon us here in Cambridge, NY. With the weather now on our side the Cambridge Hotel is excited to announce the beginning of its summer golf league on Wednesday nights. Is there anything better than to hit the fairways on a sunny afternoon at Ondawa Greens Golf Course and Driving Range and than finish the day at the Hotel with a refreshing beverage?
With views of the Adirondack Mountains, Ondawa Greens provides a gorgeous setting that accompanies you through the nine hole course. This golf course prides itself on the fact that golfers of all skill levels will enjoy there time on the greens.
Come and join us at Ondawa, located 10 minutes north on the Hotel, and curb your appetite afterwards with Chef Rich's Dirty Wings or Mac n' Cheese. Check out the full menu at cambridgehotel.com under Bistro & Tavern Dining!
